Using Canvas application in Model Driven App.

Hello Guys,

In our previous blog we have seen how to call MS Flow in canvas application. Today we will see how to make a call canvas application in Model Driven Application.

To call canvas application in model driven application we need to create one button on entity first. For time being I have already created this button named Upload Files on Contact entity using Ribbon Workbench.




Now navigate to https://make.powerapps.com and click on apps. Select your app and click on three dots(...) and select details. Copy web link url and keep it somewhere.




Now we will be creating a web resource of JScript type which contains code for calling canvas application. Create one JScript web resource and copy and paste below code in that resource. This function will be called on click of Upload Files button.




Now open canvas application. Select the screen and modify the formula of On Visible as below.




Save the changes and publish the customization which we made.

Now open contact entity and open any record where you want to upload file. Click on Upload File button.

Business captures leads through advertising, marketing, trade shows, mailings etc. Whenever organization gets any new lead, Sales Person captures the information of the lead in Lead entity available in Dynamics 365. For creating lead we require only two things, Lead Name and a Topic describing the lead. Once lead creation is completed, Sales Person performs follow up activities by sending emails, appointment and phone calls to collect more information about the lead. Microsoft Dynamics 365 stores these activities in the Activities entity in the system. Leads can be qualified or disqualified. A disqualified lead indicates that the lead is not a good candidate for sales opportunities.
