Using Two Timelines on one dynamics 365 Form.

Hello Guys,

In our previous blog we have explored how to do validation for Form component control. Today we will see how to use two timelines in one form.

Do follow us to know more about Dynamics and Power Platform. Also if you like our blog then please comment and share this blog with your friends.

As we know that on records like contacts, accounts, and cases we have one timeline control which allows users to filter the activities, posts, and note shown.

Consider a scenario where user wants to see only few records types in the timeline which means user wants only notes to be visible and at same time he wants to keep the original timeline and its full functionality.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM has introduced a new feature to add more than one timeline per form. Let's see how to do that. As you can see in above picture, we have contact form and one timeline is visible in Summary Tab. Now we will be creating one more tab where we will display one more timeline with few record type option. Visit https://make.powerapps.com and select your environment.

As you can see we have our blogger solution which contains our Contact Table. we will customize Main form as shown below:

Now click on 1-column tab which will add one more tab as shown below. I have given the name to this tab as "Notes".

Now click on Display and Drag Timeline control.

Now select Timeline control and go to the properties and configure the timeline as shown below:

Now we have made the changes. Now we will save and publish the customization.

Once publish is done, we will refresh the contact record.

As you can see now in Notes tab another timeline is visible. You can click on (+) button to create new note.

You can notice that now only note option is visible.

Hope it helps...
