Opening a Sub Grid record in a Pop-up window in Dynamics 365.

Hello Guys

In my previous blog we have seen how you can integrates SharePoint with D365 and how you can keep documents related to entity in SharePoint. Today we will see how you can open a record from the sub grid in a pop-up window.  But before if you are new to our blog then do follow us to know more about Dynamics and Power Platform. In my one of blogs i have shown how we can configure editable sub grid. We will use the same editable sub grid to open the record. If you have not view this blog then you can view it from here: Editable Sub grid in D365.



As you can see here we have Department and Employees in that department. Here Employee Grid is Editable Sub grid. Now create a one Jscript web resource and copy below code.



Add this web resource in Dynamics 365. Now open Department Entity in Form Editor. Select Employee Sub Grid and click on change properties.



Select Event Tab and from the Events drop down select OnRecordSelect Event and click on Add.Configure it as below.



Save the changes and publish the customization. Now Refresh the Department Entity and open any record and you will see the clicked record will be opening in Pop-up window.

Using Polymorphic Lookups in D365.

Hello Guys, In our previous  blog   we have seen how to use two timelines in one form. Today we will understand what is polymorphic lookups and how to use them.
